Barbara Jazwinski's music has been presented throughout the world. Among the many distinguished artists with whom she has collaborated are Esther Lamneck, Odaline de la Martinez, Jeremy Huw Williams, Paula Fan, Steven Beck, Miranda Cucson, Aaron Wunsch, Robert Burkhart, Tim Ruedeman, Suzanne Gilchrest, Marta Troicki, and Martha Locker. Her work Beyond the Sunset, recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Miran Vaupotic, with violinist Davide Alogna as soloist, has recently been released on Symphonic Stradivarius, NV6688. Her Fantasy on Jazz, recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra conducted by David Watkin, with Samuel Brandão Marques as clarinet soloist, was released on the album Symphonic Chronicles, vol. 1, NV6519, on April 28, 2023.

Among her awards are the Prince Pierre of Monaco Composition Award for her Sextet and the First Prize in the Nicola De Lorenzo Music Composition Contest for Music for Chamber Orchestra. She is the recipient of numerous commissions, grants, and fellowships, including commissions from Sonora Winds, the London Festival of American Music, the New York University New Music Ensemble, the Louisiana Music Teachers' Association, Esther Lamneck, Jeremy Huw Williams, the Louisiana Sinfonietta, the New Hudson Saxophone Quartet, the Chamber Music Center at the Composers' Conference at Wellesley College, Quatuor Francis Poulenc, an Artist Fellowship from the Louisiana State Arts Council, grants from the Presser Foundation, the Newcomb Foundation, the Metzner Foundation, Meet the Composer, Inc., and many others.
Dr. Jazwinski received her degrees from Stanford University (M.A.), where she studied with Gyorgy Ligeti, and from the City University of New York (Ph.D.), where she studied with Mario Davidovsky. Currently, she is Head of the Music Composition Program at Tulane University in New Orleans.
